In1964,theschoolenrolled500Year8studentsandin1966anumberofourex-Year12studentsbecamesomeoftheoriginalundergraduatesofthenewJamesCookUniversityatDouglas.
Totalstudentnumbersattheschoolincreasedrapidlyfromthemid1960's,withnumberspeakingat2043in1975.Inthisyear,PimlicoStateHighSchoolbecamethelargestHighSchoolinQueensland.
In1991,theschoolwasgazettedaBand11HighSchool,andthepresentPrincipal,MrT.Goan,wasappointed.Todaytheschool'senrolmentisapproximately1450.
PimlicoStateHighSchoolisalargeco-educationurbanhighschoollocatedintheeasternsuburbsofTownsville,NorthQueensland.
