BalgowlahBoysHighSchoolturned50in2004.Theschooldatesfrom1stJuly1954,whenManlyHighwastransferredtoCurlCurl.ItislocatedonaprimesiteofmorethanfiveacresintheheartofBalgowlah.
Startingwith250students,theschoolhasgonethroughmanyphases,whereatonetimetherewereinexcessof1200studentsattending.In1958itbecameafull,fiveyearHighSchoolandpresenteditsfirstLeavingCertificatecandidates,76%ofwhomweresuccessfulinattainingtheircertificates.
Throughouttheschool'shistory,manyoftheBalgowlahpupilshavegoneontobehighachieversinbusiness,scienceandthesportingarena.Manyofthesestudentsarerememberedtodaythroughthehonourroleinthemainoffice.
