TheDirectorofEducationinformedthecommunityin1952that200enrolledstudentswasthemagicnumberforanAreaSchool.Athirdteacherwasappointedin1951andtheCongregationalSundaySchoolwasrentedasanextraclassroom.
In1953withanenrolmentwith143thefourthteacherwasappointedand'Grade8'wastaughtto5students.Thefifthteacherjoinedthestaffin1954with201enrolledandonly4classrooms.In1955itwaspromotedtoahigherprimaryschoolwith7teachersonthestaff,214primaryand20secondarystudents.Thatyearasingleweatherboardclassroom,scienceroomandlibraryblockwerebuilt.
KeithHigherPrimarywasreclassifiedin1957toKeithAreaSchoolwithanenrolmentof286primaryand40secondary.Approvalwasgivenin1960forthenewsolidconstructiononthelandaddedtotheschoolgroundsin1954.
ItwascompletedinNovember1962andclassesmovedin.ItwasofficiallyopenedApril301963.1964sawtheintroductionofleaving(Fourthyearsecondary)butitwasn'tuntil1975whenMatriculationwasadded.
Enrolmentwasashighas740inthelate1960's.Sincetheopeningmanynewfeatureshavebeenadded,additionalclassrooms,agriculturalscienceaddedtothecurriculum,thusplotssetupforpracticalwork,canteenanddentalclinic.Sportingfacilities,oval,hockeyfield,tenniscourtsandadventureplaygroundforprimarystudents.Areassetasideforlawnsandshadedareas.
